About this site
This website is a parody in the spirit of Jonathan Swift: rather than
arousing anger, it is intended to provoke thought. The theme of
this parody is the idea that, from the perspective of
our current economic system, poverty is a very good thing. Because
it increases profit margins, its existence is beneficial to a global
economy. In fact, it is in the best interests of multinational
corporations and their shareholders to prolong poverty for as long as
possible.
Whether you ultimately agree or disagree with these conclusions is not
relevant; the purpose of this
site is to provoke thought on the nature of our current
economic system and our consumer culture, not to make you
think that corporations are
evil. My only goal in creating this parody is to make you think more
about what is going on in our world.
